Physiotherapist

Physiotherapists manage a wide range of conditions, including patients with physical disabilities or musculoskeletal, neurological and cardiopulmonary conditions. They help patients optimize their mobility after an injury, surgery or illness by prescribing safe and evidence-based exercises to improve their functional capacity, joint mobility and balance, build muscle strength and relieve pain. Services available:

  • Chest therapy
  • Thermotherapy
  • Ultrasonic therapy
  • Electrical stimulation

 

Occupational therapist

Occupational Therapists concerned with people of all ages whose everyday life has been affected by physical, cognitive, and/or mental health problems. Occupational therapists use everyday activities (occupations) in a purposeful and therapeutic manner, and a variety of treatment methods to obtain a desired level of functioning to perform their roles and tasks in daily living such as productivity (work/education), self-care, play and leisure. Occupational therapy are useful in rehabilitation of :

  • upper limb and hand injuries;
  • burns and plastics injuries
  • neurology deficits
  • orthopedic injuries
  • oncology disease
  • vascular and lymphoedema diseases

 

Speech therapist

Speech Therapists assess and manage swallowing and communication disorders in adults and/or children. Communication disorders include disorders in speech, language, fluency and voice. Areas under speech therapist review including:

  • Dysphagia (swallowing difficulties)
  • Voice
  • Fluency (stuttering)
  • Developmental speech and language disorders in children
  • Speech and resonance disorders in individuals with cleft and craniofacial anomalies
  • Acquired communication difficulties (e.g. post stroke or post-surgical intervention in head and neck cancers)

 

Dietitian

Dietitians provide medical nutrition therapy to patients, which includes evidence-based diets, nutrition education and counselling, as well as nutritional supplements, enteral tube feeding and parenteral nutrition. They also conduct nutrition assessment and design nutrition care plans for patients.
